Quality at Global Packaging
Why Quality Matters to Global Packaging
When you think about the word quality, what comes to mind? You can apply it to any product, service, or aspect of life. The details and characteristics you pay attention to when assessing something’s level of quality vary depending on what you’re evaluating. At Global Packaging, we knew early on that we needed to pay careful attention to the quality of the products we make, which is why, for example, we maintain national brand equivalency (NBE) for our salt and pepper products, as well as adhering to the Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards.
Extending Quality to Customer Service
But once we achieved the right level of product quality, we also saw that wasn’t going to be enough to survive and thrive in the longer term. As we established dominance in supplying private label NBE salt and pepper products to both the food retail and food service sectors, we knew we needed to expand our view of quality beyond the product to include the way we service our customers. After all, what good is a high-quality product if customers can’t get it when and where they need it?
We developed our capacity to plan ahead and built redundancies into our own supply chain to ensure our ability to always make on-time deliveries without fail, regardless of what else may be happening in the world and global supply chains. We also made sure to go the extra mile in customer service responsiveness. It is rare for a customer service inquiry or issue to not be addressed within 24 hours. More often than not we respond on the same day.
This approach has served us well. It explains why many of the largest grocery store food retailers have been loyal customers for well over two decades. It is why the world’s largest retailer continues to purchase our products. It is why our products can be found in restaurants and food service operations everywhere. As we like to say, “Quality makes us Global.”
SQF: Safe Quality Food Certification
- Level 1 SQF covers the fundamentals of food-safety controls, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Distribution Practices (GDPs).
- Level 2 SQF adds in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) risk assessment and implementation for a food-safety plan.
- Level 3 SQF goes even further by focusing not only on food safety but also food quality to ensure action is taken to rectify poor quality or contamination through the HACCP process.
The scope of our SQF certification falls in the categories of manufacture of food sector packaging materials and plastic molded food closures. We are proud to meet these standards in our operations.
